World-class Mobile Developer

Layar is seeking a skilled C++/Android developer with world-class experience in mobile software development. The ideal candidate is flexible, self-motivated and creative. We’re looking for someone that loves making the coolest mobile software. That can bring our Layar application to the next level. Someone who can create a fantastic user interface in the blink of an eye without needing full-fledged interaction designs. Someone with a portfolio of apps that stand out from the usual.

• Prototype and develop cool new features for our Android and C++ clients
• Ensure the user experience on Layar is outstanding and innovative
• Collaborate with external mobile client development teams, ensuring good quality standards
• Finding, reporting, and fixing bugs

You will be reporting to the CTO, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining our core library used in Android and C++ based mobile clients.

• 3+ years of experience in mobile or embedded development. You have built world-class applications, using highly innovative, non-standard UI elements
• 4+ years experience with C++
• 2+ years of experience with Android
• Experience with object oriented design
• Experience using svn or other version control system
• Knowledge of web-based APIs from the client perspective (web services, REST, JSON, XML)
• Flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing work environment
• Passion and Flexibility
• Creativity: Ability to translate high-level product requirements into innovative user interfaces
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Work to be done in Amsterdam, Netherlands

• Experience with OpenGL (ES)
• Experience with iPhone (ObjectiveC) and/or Symbian development
• Good communication skills
